Living With Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Looks Different Every Day

“I know what you’re probably thinking — I don’t look “sick” all the time so how could I have a debilitating chronic illness? 🎗️ Especially one that’s considered common and one of the most painful in the world?
Believe it or not, the truth is, days or weeks after many of these shoots, sometimes even the very next day, I was in the hospital with bruised veins from being on IV morphine because my pain was so excruciating.
Like many other endo warriors, I stayed silent for a long time. This isn’t a “woe is me” message I’m trying to spread, but rather a call to break the stigma about women’s health. A vicious cycle that has led to endometriosis & adenomysis becoming a silent epidemic affecting over 200 million women worldwide.
We’ve stayed silent long enough, not wanting to be a burden to our loved ones and fearing the dismissal and gaslighting we’d experience from medical professionals. Dismissal and gaslighting that contributes to waiting for 7-10 yrs on average for a diagnosis. I want to raise awareness so that one day a cure, pain management and effective treatment doesn’t seem like an elusive dream. 💛
I’m sharing this so that other people who have endo, invisible or chronic diseases don’t feel like they have to hide their reality for the comfort of others.
And if you’re lucky enough to be in good health, let this be a gentle reminder that you don’t know the invisible weight someone is carrying just by looking at them.
Remember, kindness costs nothing but it can mean everything to someone in pain. 💛✨🎗️”
